The first vision and concept of Pure Outdoor goes back to 2011 on expedition in Alaska with Guy, Neil and Chris that resulted in the first ascent of ‘Sourdough Suicide’ on Mt Geist. With many days spent waiting for weather windows and dreaming big - sketching notes and doodling ideas. Upon our return I could just make out a few notes on some of our scraps of paper. It was a business plan and it was simple. “Climb more, Work less, Have fun”. It hold’s true to this day. We wanted to do a better job. To design an outdoor company to educate and inspire and to share our passion. We wanted to be out there doing, learning and experiencing! Little did we know, the adventure was yet to begin….
Like many small businesses, the Covid-19 crisis has written off our summer trading and therefore our year (we save for the winter through the summer). So we've battened down the hatches, spending time with family and dreaming BIG.

We've built up a really loyal customer base over the years and it's so great to get support from everyone who has been in touch.

For those looking for ways to help, I thought i'd write a quick article here with some ideas on how you can help not only us, but any small businesses, suffering through this crisis

Difficult roads lead to beautiful places. The best is yet to come

1. Book ahead

We've relaxed our terms and conditions through this period, so you can book onto any of our courses, with full flexibility to change dates should the goal posts change (government rules/advice/illness etc)

2. Leave us a review on Google

If you have had a great time with us and haven't got round to leaving us a review - this is really helpful and helps best inform customers when they come to think about making a booking with us. Please leave us a review

3. Like and Follow our Social Media Posts and Accounts

You can keep up to date with our news and also share posts and articles from our social platforms

www.facebook.com/pureoutdoor
www.instagram.com/pureoutdoor

4. Inspire others by sharing our Basecamp articles and videos

You are reading this article in our new Knowledge Base - it's called our Basecamp! We're parking loads of articles, videos and news here for all to read. All posts can be shared onto social platforms and it's really handy for use to increase numbers of readers!

5. Leave us a review on Tripadvisor

Similar to the above post about Google Reviews, TripAdvisor reviews are also great to help guide customers about booking with us. If you have been on a course with us. Please leave us a review

6. Become a member of the Pure Outdoor Adventure Collective (coming later this month)

We're putting the icing on the cake of our new 'Pure Outdoor Adventure Collective', we have a range of memberships from £0 to £500 and we're welcoming new and existing customers into our benefits package! More news to follow - memberships will be available in our shop

7. Review us on Facebook

If you're on Facebook, this one is dead easy. Just click the link and find the 'review' section. I think it's just one click to 'vote' for us with a number of stars. Please review us on Facebook

8. Buy Gift Vouchers for friends

Not only can you buy specific values as electronic gift vouchers, you can also book courses and activities as vouchers and also add on physical Gift Packs. Take a look in our shop

9. Get your workplace involved

With lots of businesses working from home and facing huge changes, it may be time to consider what team building events would be a good idea upon this all blowing over. We have developed some amazing activities and adventures for your teams - Check them out

Thanks for reading :)
